A little while ago, I was training to become an elite powerlifter and compete in Spartan races.
Sometimes, my training felt really hard and scary!
One day, when I was doing squats, I took a deep breath. When I stood up, I said, "I AM STRONG!"
Then, I did another squat and changed what I said to “I AM FIT!”
I kept saying different "I AM" statements with each squat.
Guess what happened?
The scary thoughts in my head went away.
The pain I felt faded too.
I didn’t want to give up anymore!

This helped me get through my hard workouts, and I started to enjoy them more!
I even looked forward to going to the gym, especially on the hard days.
Why?
Because when we think positive thoughts, our brain feels good!
These happy feelings help us want to keep working out.
