It's not unusual to start a fitness journey and then have things come up, like birthday parties, work events, or traveling.
These events can make it hard to stick to your plan, and it might feel like you have no control.
When you start losing weight, remember that life doesn’t always go as planned.
Sometimes things will get in the way.
Here’s how we help our members prepare for social gatherings while still having fun!
1. Stick To Protein & Veggies Only Before The Social Event
Most gatherings happen in the afternoon or evening.
During the day leading up to the gathering:
Eat Protein and Veggies: Try to fill up on protein and veggies during the day for your meals before the event.
Skip the carbs and fats.
This way, you’ll have more room to enjoy the food at the party without feeling guilty because you will be in a "carb deficit"
2. Workout Before the Event
in our previous blog post How To Time Your Carbs For Enhanced Fat Loss, we covered how the research suggests after a strength training session, our bodies can metabolize carbs/sugars to convert to muscle more likely than fat.
Working out before a gathering can help you feel great!
Quick Workout: It does not have to be long! You can do a quick 15-20 minute workout.
This helps your body use the food you eat for energy instead of storing it as fat.
Plus, working out makes you feel happy!
3. Plan Ahead
Planning can help you know what to expect when you go to a gathering.

4. Think About Your Feelings Toward Food
This might be the most important part. Take a moment to think about what food means to you.
Notice Your Feelings: Pay attention to how you feel about food.
If you find comfort in eating carbs, think of other ways to feel good, such as talking to a friend or listening to your favorite music.
Or if you are a social eater, journal why that is.
Most people enjoy eating with others.
The good news it, you don't need to eat unhealthy when eating at events, you can still eat healthy and have fun!
After all, its the connecting with your friends and family, right?
Conclusion
The key to success in your weight loss journey is learning to adapt when things come up and controlling your feelings about food.
With these tips, you can enjoy social events without going off track.
Remember, it’s about balance and making healthy choices!
Stay strong and enjoy your journey!
